My husband and I have worked with Haury’s Lake City collision in the past for repairs to our vehicles. Each time, we’ve been impressed by the quality of the work as well as the fantastic customer service. During a recent incident, though, the staff at Haury’s went above and beyond to help us rectify a situation.
I am currently pregnant with twins, my first pregnancy after a very long road of fertility treatments and 2 miscarriages. Because of this, this pregnancy is a high risk and it is important for my health and the health of my unborn children to reduce the amount of stress in my life. So on February 13, 2013, when a rock broke the back vent window of my vehicle, I expected that replacing the glass would simply be a routine matter. Instead, the glass company that was contracted to do the work by my insurance company not only damaged my vehicle when pulling out the broken
glass, but also replaced it with a defective piece. Within 20 minutes, they made the situation a lot worse and though they acknowledged that they were at fault, proceeded to drag their feet in completing the repair, making me take time away from work to get the situation assessed.
At this point, I contacted Haury’s. Following a consultation with Zac, an estimate for repairs was sent to the auto glass company. At that point, they refused to pay for repairs, claiming that they were “overpriced” and “unnecessary.” When we contacted our insurance company, expecting that they would back us, we were floored when they also pushed us to gather 2 more estimates and were pushing that we should simply do a less expensive repair. Needless to say, this was incredibly stressful, which was impacting my pregnancy.
Thankfully, Mallory and Zac stepped in and took charge. Upon learning about this outrageous request, they had me drop off my vehicle, put me into a rental car, and proceeded to take my vehicle to 2 other auto body shops to obtain estimates for the work that was required. All this information, including photos documenting the damage, was forwarded to my insurance company as well as the auto glass company. It was through their hard work and persistence that the situation was not only quickly resolved but also that appropriate repairs were completed.
It is rare to find people in the auto industry who are willing to go out of their way for their customers, insuring quality work. It is even rarer to find a group who not only stands behind their work, but is willing to help a cilent resolve such a difficult situation. I can’t begin to express how thankful my husband and I are for the crew at Haury’s, particularly Mallory and Zac. You did more than repair my vehicle. You helped insure the health of my unborn children.
I would like to thank Jeff B, Jeff R and Drew S for their superior expertise and good advice which helped me through a nightmare situation. A slip on black ice and bump over a road divider resulted in huge damages to the underside of the low riding Honda Civic Hybrid. The insurance adjuster balked at paying and the Insurance company wanted me to tow the dissembled car to one of “their shops.”
Supported with consumer knowledge, i.e. the right to have your car repaired in the shop of your choice, I was able to get the car restored to pre-accident condition with Honda parts. I cannot say enough in praise of Haury’s quality, efficient service in addition to their support to the consumer who wants to get the job done right.
I’ve never thought any automotive shop could get 5 out of 5. There always seems to be something that’s not perfect- maybe close, but not worthy of a perfect score. I’ve been in a couple accidents through the years and have gone to several body shops. I’ve been completely screwed by some, and treated well at others, but never have I had as great of an experience as I have had at Haury’s. It was perfect!
A little background: I’ve been in the unfortunate position of having been in an accident twice in my 2006 Subaru Sti.
The first time I took it to a friends shop- and they cut corners to cover my deductible for me.
I later took my car to Haury’s because I heard that they were the best fender rolling place around Seattle. I brought my car in to get the fenders rolled, and that’s when they asked me if I knew my car had been in an accident.
Of course I said yes I knew. Then they walked me back to the shop area to show me a couple things while my car was on a lift. They basically showed me every little corner my friend’s shop had cut to save me money. I felt a little embarrassed and didn’t mention the name of my friend’s shop. I was amazed at how they took an educating approach to showing me everything- not like they were just trying to bash someone else’s work. They seemed to really care.
Long story short, they rolled my fenders for me so that I could fit wider tires on my car- and they did amazing work, and even corrected some of the shoddy work done by my friends shop to get it done perfectly and make it a perfect fender roll. If you are looking to get your fenders rolled definitely bring your car to Haury’s
Okay, now fast forward to a couple years later. I got rear ended by a drunk driver in Belltown who had no insurance- but drove a new Infinity g35!!! I thought my car was totalled, but my insurance company, Allstate wanted to save some money and said that it was repairable.
I knew that I wanted to take it to Haury’s after seeing what perfectionists they were. So I told my claim rep that’s where I was going to take it. My claim rep said that, “oh, they aren’t certified” I know for a fact that they are certified to fix all the Euro brand cars, and they are even the only shop in the PNW that is certified to work on the new Nissan Skyline GTR. Plus, I’ve seen the work they do on all sorts of high-end cars, old classics, imports, and domestics. I saw a guy’s 76 suburban that he was restoring after it got out paint and had all new chrome- and it looked amazing! And I don’t like suburbans….
So to make a really long story short, my car is fixed, it’s way better than it was after my friend’s shop’s repair, it’s even better than it was brand new in every way! Better paint than what Subaru used from the factory. It is beautiful! I almost think it is so nice that I don’t want to drive it!!!!
Okay, so I LOVE my car and will always drive it- that’s what it is built for!
If I can sway anyone to take their car there and be as happy as I am with the quality of the work and the service, I am sure that you will love everything.
One warning, the major (also known as cheap) insurance companies will probably steer you to go to their favored repair facilities that cut corners to save money for both the insurance co and the shop. Haury’s demands using all OEM new replacement parts whenever possible which tends to be a little more expensive- but it is your right to get your car repaired correctly and back to pre-accident condition by whatever shop you choose.
I still can’t believe that I actually had this good of an experience with a auto-body shop! They deserve all five stars! They were all around perfect!
My MINI (aka my baby) was hit by a Honda Element. My MINI was less than a year old at the time and let me tell you I was angry/sad/shocked/sad/relieved I was fine/pissed.. etc.. It was not my fault and all I cared about was getting my car fixed ASAP. I contacted the dealer and they highly recommended Haury’s.
With Haury’s I had the relief of knowing they were a) highly recommended by the dealer, b) had access to genuine OEM parts, and c) obviously had tons of experience with MINIs since there are no MINI certified body shops. My insurance company was not happy since they could not save a buck or two, but be aware insurance shops often install already used parts on your car to save money. Do you really want that? Luckily I had Washington State laws on my side and they could not pressure me to go to one of their body shops.
The people at Haury’s kept me informed and gave me updates regarding the issues with the estimator and the progress of the the work on my car. They didn’t even seem to mind when I kept asking when it will be done, excited to have my car back. They are strong supporters of the customer and the customer’s rights. My MINI returned to me looking good as new. I would give Haury’s a 5 if it were not for a tiny adjustment I had to go back for, but Haury’s addressed the issue, and it was resolved quickly.
Insurance companies (like mine) will try to steer you away from Haury’s. That is wrong, and against the law. Haury’s gets this kind of flak from them because they have chosen not to take insurance contracts. Doing so would degrade the quality of their work. What that means is they will not cut corners unless YOU want them to. YOU are in control of your repair at Haury’s…not your adjustor. That is the major difference with this shop– they work for YOU.
Last summer I was rear-ended by another driver who was insured by Allstate. Dealing with the Allstate adjuster was not the most pleasant thing I’ve had to do, but Zac and everyone at Haury’s were more than helpful.
In addition to an absolutely flawless repair, Zac was able to get Allstate to promptly pay for the repairs without much of a fight. If I’m ever in an accident again, I will not hesitate to take my car to Haury’s. Their quality of work and dedication to the customer are second to none.
My experience with Haury’s was superb, as they were very professional, both in their workmanship and in their customer service –these guys really know how to operate a business properly, and to produce excellent results, even for the most detail-oriented of customers. My car was returned to me three days after dropping it off, in showroom condition, with the paintwork looking just brilliant (and the interior clean!). (No exaggeration about the showroom condition; I’m very particular about washing and waxing my car, and I’ve never gotten my paint to shine like that; the car looked brand new).
I tend to do some research before going to auto repair or body shops for major repairs. And got referals to Haury’s from my BMW club friends that said this is the place I should consider getting my truck repaired.
My experience was fantastic and I would highly recommend going to Haury’s. They provided me a very detailed estimate with detailed breakdowns of labor and parts. I got my Land Rover Discovery rear quarter panel replaced and painted that had a 11 year old paint and they matched new panel to the original paint exactly; obviously their painter is fantastic. The cost ended up being almost exactly matching the estimate and I’m completely satisfied.
If you have a need for major body repair, don’t hesitate to drop by Haury’s and talk with Jeff. With Haury’s you’ll not be disappointed if you’re looking for fixing something 100%.
Haury’s Lake City Collision is one of the most extraordinary businesses that I have ever worked with. After my accident, not knowing which way to turn, the staff directed me step-by-step. They offered assurance every step of the way. I knew by their level of professionalism that my car would be put back together and working better than before and looking good as new. I was right! They answered every call and e-mail promptly and spent as much time as needed until I understood everything. Thank you, Haury’s, for your excellent service, honesty and integrity.
This is the second time Haury’s has done work on my car, and once again, they were top notch. Zac is always extremely helpful, informative, and straight to the point. He and Jeff worked great with my insurance company and went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I got the best customer service and that my car (which is by no means a high end car) was repaired back to a level almost better then new.
Bottom, line, they do things right in this shop. They don’t cut corners, they don’t use crappy parts, and they take the time needed to do the job right. You can’t ask for anything better then that. Would recommend them to anyone in a second.
Haury’s Collision repaired my mini van after my friend’s Gf backed it out of the garage scraping the whole right side of the van. I went to Haury’s because of all the good Reviews they get. It certainly would have been more convienent to go some where closer to my work in Auburn but when it comes to my car I will sacrifice convience for quality & service anytime… They sure lived up to the hype!
Her insurance company wanted to repair it will using a after market door and blend the paint only around the door. Haury’s went to bat for me and convinced the ins co to get a factory door, trim and repaint the whole side because matching paint on the door to faded paint on the right side would not be acceptable.
I commend Haury’s for helping me navigate the ins mess. Jeff & Zak are saints. There was a delay waiting for the ins adjuster to come out and inspect the door. The ins co would not pay the additional 1-2 days in the rental car so Jeff stepped in and lent me a nice 530i to drive. I wish the ins co would have delayed all week because I really loved driving the loaner BMW. Evidently Haury’s also has an 06 BMW M3 they call “the ultimate loaner car.” Of course it was on-loan that day.. Jeff promises to let me use it next time…. Thanks Jeff & Zak!
Some dumb neighbor kids were playing catch with a football in the street in front of my house a few weeks back. The football landed hard on the roof of my wife’s 2006 c230 Mercedes leaving a nice football size divot.
Needless to say I took the car to Haury’s Collision in Lake City because they are one of the only shops around who can refinish a Mercedes as good as the factory. They use the Glasurit (SP?) painting system by BASF.
Anyway we got the car back on time and it was better than new. Haury’s buffed and waxed the whole outside and detailed the interior. It looks better than it did before this episode with the football. This is a great local company who tries to do the right thing. I would and do recommend Haury’s to anyone who cares about how their car is fixed.
Jeff and Drew helped me out a lot with a huge headache. I was involved in a car accident and my own insurance company told me the car’s repairs would cost around $5300. I found out at Haury’s the repairs totaled over $9k. Let’s just say the insurance company decided total the car, and with the initial investigation regarding my coverage, they also left me without a car for 29 days. It wasn’t until Jeff, Drew and I had a sit down that I found out that what rights I have and I was even coached as to how to write the insurance company to right this wrong.
Now the key to this was simple, and I found most of the information on their website. After exchanging some emails, I received a higher comparable settlement, and I am still working on these 29 days of denied coverage. From which I understand, that if I file with the Washington Insurance Commissioner, I will get a hefty check. Either way, I’d probably still be out of thousands of dollars had it been for Haury’s business practices and ethics. They simply do it right, and I couldn’t be happier.

Jeff Butler at Haury’s Lake City Collision doesn’t just talk about his passion for safe care repairs, he works tirelessly to make people who want and need to be aware of this issue and does the quality repair work.
He understands the language of an Insurance contract and goes out of his way to get what you as an insurer is entitled to per your insurance contract. Jeff has also gone to Olympia and helped change legislation to protect people from driving unsafe cars. He keeps in contact with the Insurance Commissioner’s Office and what is happening in the Automotive Repair and Insurance business. He is involved with several automotive companies to help bring repair and insurance problems to resolution.
I had no idea how normal of a practice it is to do a “cheap” repair until I had my car accident. Jeff helped me soooooo much. Jeff found a poor repair done on my car and fixed it well, giving me peace of mind to know I am now protected by my car from another unforeseen accident. If you have the patience, (Jeff is very busy) you will get results! If you have had an accident and need your repair done correctly or if you have had any hint of the insurance company not looking after your interest to take care of your car……see Jeff ASAP! He is the only one that can help you the best. You’re in for a real education about Insurance Companies and Repairs.
Jeff and his crew were excellent to deal with. Though my car took quite a while to fix (4 weeks), they did a great job and quality of work was great. There was a small paint run that I discovered after picking up the car, but Jeff’s team took care of that on another day (where they provided a free loaner). It’s clear they stand behind their work, and my car feels as good as new.
I particularly enjoyed the level of service I received from Jeff. My insurance company didn’t pay the full amount initially, which made me feel taken advantage of. However Jeff spent quite a bit of time to go over the details on what to do next. He provided me with plenty of tips and guides on how to work with insurance companies, and even called up the company directly to help recoup the re-imbursement that I am entitled to. Fantastic level of service from the Owner!

After our 2006 BMW 325i was badly damaged in a crash (totally the other driver’s fault — she got a citation!), we did not know where to pick up. Our biggest worry was what to do with the car now. It looked so bad that though we loved it so much, there was no way we could imagine it running as well as it did prior to the accident. Our insurance assessed the damage, as well as the value of the car, and gave us the option to send it to ‘people who know the car’ to get a more thorough, informed assessment. My husband looked around and researched and found rave reviews for Haury’s. And we never looked back. I’m glad he chose these guys.
They know what they are doing, are totally pro-consumers, and will tell it as it is. Because of them, our insurance was forced to do nothing else but to total the car (they were talking about repairs only prior to Haury’s assessment). They were quick, prompt, very helpful, and you get personalized service from the owner himself. He was very approachable and was very knowledgeable and made sure we knew our rights. I have only the best words for them. My husband, who had been so devastated with the accident, felt so reassured with the service that he got from them. Thank you, Haury’s. More power to you!
Haury’s performed repairs and some custom paint on my 2010 Mini Cooper. They kept me informed all the time and worked with my insurance company to get the most for my out of pocket deductible.
My Mini looks better than it did when it was new, they did a fantastic job repairing the left front after I hit a deer and ran into the ditch.
We had some issues with my insurance company and Haury’s took care of all the issues for me and relieved me of all the stress with dealing with the insurance company. I was thoroughly impressed with their customer service.
If you want your Mini repaired correctly they are the ones to go to, but you do need to have some patients as any artists need time to do the job and perform their miracle of recreation. I can see how others may have problems as most people don’t have much patients, but I had no problem waiting for my baby to be transformed into a gem.
I highly recomend them to help with any repairs and painting needs.

As a business owner and recent satisfied customer of Haury’s Lake City Collision, I highly recommend you CALL the shop to discuss any negative comments you see on Yelp that may concern you. I was really impressed with the time Jeff, one of the owners, took to listen to my concerns and explain the full story behind a few of the posts. It would have been much quicker and easier for him to dismiss my concerns as being unimportant. I get the impression these shop owners truly care about their clients, and the work they do for members of their community.
When I took my Acura in with damage to the front bumper, they set me up with a rental car, promptly sent me a quote for the work to be done, communicated well with my insurance company, notified me when additional damage was discovered, waited for my approval to proceed, and were always easy to reach by phone or email when I had questions. I picked up my car and was pleased to find it had been washed and vacuumed, a nice added touch.
It’s never fun to be in a car accident, but a bad situation can easily get worse if you choose a bad auto body shop. I would highly recommend sending my friends and family members to Haury’s to have their cars repaired.
My initial experience of Haury’s was very poor due to some of their employees simply not communicating with me and not doing what they said that they would do. However, when I finally complained to the owner Jeff Butler, the work was done as promised and extremely well.
Mr. Butler heard my complaint and made sure that I got what was promised – and a bit more. He went above and beyond to make what could have been a real mess into a positive experience. He may not be the best at hiring employees, but he knows how to take care of customers and his staff did an excellent job on my vehicle.
I had two different errant drivers damage my car(s) over the past 3 years. Both times I had Jeff and his crew do the repairs. Both times I am extremely pleased. Jeff is at the top of his game at auto body work. His true strength is his expertise navigating the rules and politics of the insurance companies. He is an advocate and ally in this part of the equation. Of all the vendors and businesses I ever worked with, Haury’s is THE BEST. I strongly recommend his services.
After reading the reviews here I took my car to Haurys, I had some insurance claim, where I had to have them approve the re-work on the car due to bad work done by a ‘insurance gauranteed’ shop. I have to say that Jeff Butler and Haurys is THE most pro customer shop ..and probably one of the very few that doesnt work for an insurance company.
Jeff completely investigated my car, wrote up estimates, dealt with the insurance (who by the way told me that I had to take it to their shop but after meeting Jeff was more than happy to help me!). This really helped me not worry about my car.
The work done was done very well and when I took delivery I examined the car in detail and pointed out about some things, Jeff got personally involved, made sure I had a rental car and gave me updates on the fixes and made sure the car was well taken care of. We all make mistakes but to own up to it and make sure it is not repeated again is what makes you a leader.
Haurys is a leader in the business and they are good at what they do. I will always be going to them in the future for any work needed. I would defintely recommend anyone going to Haurys if you want some piece of mind.
I recently took in my car to get some minor front end damaged fixed. I was in a fender bender where only my car was damaged and I didn’t want to go through insurance due to the value of my car. I am also very picky when it come to shops because my dad was a mechanic and I do the majority of my own work.
Haury’s took excellent care of my car and me. They worked within my budget and made my car look better then when I bought it. They bent out my core support, and attached and realigned the hood, driver’s headlight, and front bumper.
I would highly recommend this shop since their quality of work is so high and their prices are very reasonable. If I ever need body work done again I know where I will be going.
My wife had her Acura MDX hit in the parking lot and there was extensive damage to the bumper and tailgate. I have had a several great experiences with Haury’s with regards to my BMW and they were the first person on my list to have repair the Acura.
As usual, Zac and Jeff (the owners), took wonderful care of me and the MDX. They set up the rental car and handled the insurance claim without any problems. The repair is undetectable, which is the same experiences that I had with my BMW.
The MDX was finished on time, looked great, and was detailed. Any time I need body work, they are the go too guys.
With regards with my BMW, they have a ton of experience mechanically. They replaced my clutch, tranny, flywheel and other mechanical repairs with ease. So, I also trust them for mechanical work.
I have known Jeff and Zac for 7 years and they are excellent, profesional, and experienced. They take the time to explain everything in great detail and instill confidence that your vehicle will be repaired in the best possible fashion without cutting corners.
I have also had them paint and install cosmetic parts on my vehicles. When they are done, the fit and finish look OEM.
Haury’s is an honest, fair shop that will provide an independent assessment of your damage. Jeff, and his crew, are extremely customer oriented. I stopped in, and he was extremely helpful. He took time to perform an thorough quote at no charge.

I was recently in a small fender-bender, and being new to Seattle, I did not know where to take my car to be repaired. I decided to take my 2005 Honda Accord to a couple of body shops in the area, and one stop was Haury’s because of the location and convenience.
My visit there could not have been more pleasant! After getting an estimate, I was informed of my rights and that I did not have to take my car to where the insurance company told me. Being a young, female in the Seattle area, I worried about the kid of work I would get. Haury’s eliminated any fears and they went over and beyond to help me. I had no hesitation about the kind of work I would receive.
I would definitely take my car to Haury’s again, and have recommended the shop to many friends and family!

Haury’s is a shop I will continue to go to for years to come. Why? Because the employees are professional, honest, caring–and most of all–the shop does high-end quality work. Frankly, I trust them with every aspect of my vehicle. In all of this, the prices are competitive, the location is very convenient, and they work with all types of insurances.
Over the last 5 years I’ve brought four different cars into Haury’s. Every experience has been great, and the service always above par. In fact, the shop is so good that before I buy any car, used or new, I’ll take it in so they can look it over and tell me whether or not work has been done to it (these guys can tell because their professional!).
In sum, then: Don’t gamble with your automotive repair because it’s just too stressful and expensive to do so. Trust me, I know. Instead, take this review seriously and call Haury’s if you need any work done–big or small. Good businesses will always be rewarded for their service, and this review is illustrative of my experience with Haury’s.
Absolutely amazing experience! I used to be an insurance adjuster so I’m aware of all the ins and outs of fixing a vehicle thru insurance and the hastle that comes along with it. Trust me that if you take your vehicle to Haury’s they will make the experience painless. Very professional, efficient and did amazing work. My Jetta looks great, and they did everything in their power to get the vehicle fixed in 3 days like i needed them too. Use them with confidence.
